My Inspiration: The rugged beauty of the East MacDonnell Ranges and the thrill of fossicking at Gemtree, Northern Territory.

My Inspiration Story:

Deep in the mulga country just north of the spectacular East MacDonnell Ranges, we found ourselves at Gemtree Roadhouse and caravan park - a little oasis in the Northern Territory's red heart. For three days, we worked the earth under the vast outback sky, fossicking for the region's treasured Harts Range garnets.

The hard work, the anticipation with each dig, and finally the joy of discovering these beautiful reddish-brown gems in various shapes and sizes - it was an adventure that had to be captured in silver and stone.
